Gringo My Life On The Edge As An International Fugitive

Gringo My Life On The Edge As An International Fugitive

$9.95

During his ten year prison sentence, Dan “Tito” Davis penned a 700-page manuscript, which chronicled his thirteen year period on the run from the United States federal government. His writing provided a glimpse into staying alive and out of prison while mixing it up with major drug cartels in Colombia and Mexico; crossing the Darien Gap the worlds most dangerous passageway, sneaking into Germany, getting interrogated in Cuba, and building a resort in Venezuela the same time Hugo Chavez was calling President Bush “the devil” at the United Nations. And while Davis’s exploits were stunning, there was only one problem—he wasn’t a writer.

While living in a halfway house in Wyoming, Davis met with writer Peter Conti and quickly tapped him to “write his story the right way.” For a year the two worked diligently to turn Davis’s raw material into an action-packed memoir, which includes Davis’s life before he went on the lam—how he was making $200,000 a week in college manufacturing White Crosses (speed) and distributing them across the country via the Bandidos motorcycle gang; when he was trafficking thousands of pounds of high grade pot through tunnels and on horse trailers; and how he was set up by his childhood friend.

Published by Full Court Press, under the direction of Barry Sheinkopf, Gringo is a must-read for those looking for what life is really like on the run.

Very entertaining story - held my interest throughout! VERY well written! The pace of my reading a book is always driven by the quality of the story and how well it was written. This book is likely the fastest read I've ever completed. I hated to have this book come to an end but it was probably the most enjoyment I've ever had reading a book. Crazy story of a crazy life but thoroughly entertaining and often hilarious.

Action packed adventure of Dan "Tito" Davis and his run for freedom. I really enjoyed reading this action packed novel of crime and adventure. I consider Gringo to be the most intriguing non-fiction novel I have read. I continuously found myself captivated by the characters and unable to put the book down. A very well written novel.

Unbelievably true, heartbreaking and awe inspiring I heard about this book from none other than the man, Dan Tito Davis. I met him in Key West and was immediately intrigued by his story. It’s a miracle he survived the perils of his life on the run, leaving behind his family in the states in search of hope and redemption.Instead of a international fugitive, Tito is an international treasure who I now call a friend. I’m hopeful to see a movie or miniseries about his life. The story isn’t over and I pray for all good things for this man who has suffered greatly and still manages that great smile and charismatic demeanor. Stay strong Tito!

A book you won’t want to put down I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It is a fast-paced, suspenseful biography written with a sense of humor that made this book a pleasure to read. This book lets you in on the life of Dan Davis, a/k/a Tito, who spent many years in the fast lane, often on the run or on his way from one great adventure to another. It is a true page-turner.
